Judd Apatow Refuses to Go Easy on Bill Cosby

by Alice Lawton

Judd Apatow is not going to let the Bill Cosby scandal go. On last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Apatow said that people that claim he should stop criticizing Cosby are more or less saying “Leave a rapist alone.” Apatow has come under fire for his criticism of Cosby—and though he did admit he shouldn’t respond to so many tweets from Cosby defenders, he refuses to stop his ridiculing.

Apatow also has a very interesting theory about why Cosby continues to tour, even though he doesn’t understand why people keep letting Cosby perform: “I think the reason why he [tours] is so he doesn’t have to go home to his wife…because then he doesn’t have to explain everything.” Apatow may be cracking a joke, but the theory is a compelling one. Who would want to face their wife after being accused of sexually assaulting more than forty women?
