Okay, tabloids are annoying enough to begin with but the amount of shade they throw at women trying to complete simple tasks is totally ridiculous. Can’t they stop dramatizing every little move celebs make?! Vagenda Magazines twitter recently asked followers to ‘normalize’ hypercritical tabloid headlines and boy oh boy did they come through. Retorts vary from complimenting celebs for being normal human-beings, to simply acknowledging how good ... Read More

Lorde learned a lesson last year after criticizing some of her fellow pop stars Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez for having “unfeminist lyrics” or for being too “unobtainable and flawless.” It's safe to say that Lorde wasn’t trying to be catty or harsh, and seems more like the kind of girl who was more interested in holding people accountable and reminding us that celebrities aren’t perfect. We know she has definitely changed her ... Read More

While I may not agree with Miley Cyrus's every move (that was not a twerking pun, for the record), she's finally spouting some truth I can get behind: feminism. In an interview with BBC's radio program Newsbeat, Miley declared: "I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything. I'm for anybody and everything. I don't care what you want to do in your life, or who you want to be with, who you want to love or ... Read More

Country music darling, Taylor Swift, sometimes referred to as Tswift or Tswizzle (O.K. that one was all me..), unveiled her own learning center in Nashville, this past Saturday morning. The building aptly named, Taylor Swift Education Center is now located at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It will be home to classes, workshops, and an instrument room.

When the web gives us wonders like Feminist Ryan Gosling, Feminist Harry Potter, and now the ultra-viral Feminist Taylor Swift account, it seems like the whole cyberverse explodes—and for good reason. Feminist Taylor Swift is probably my favorite parody to come out this year, and it’s all thanks to Brown University student Clara Beyer, whose quest for lyrical justice began like most movements: out of frustration.

Feminist icon and punk legend Kathleen Hanna is one of my many heroes. Defiant activist, outspoken pro-choicer, amazing songwriter, skilled musician, and prolific zine author, my friends and all kind of wish we were her. Her ground-breaking riot grrrl band Bikini Kill changed punk forever but Hanna wasn’t going to stop there. After Bikini Kill broke up in 1997, she went on to start electronic-dance-punk band Le Tigre, which is now sadly on ... Read More
It looks like Amy Poehler has responded to Taylor Swift’s now infamous reaction to the jokes Poehler and Tina Fey made about her when they co-hosted the Golden Globes.
“You know what, Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J Fox’s son," Fey told a laughing crowd. Poehler joked that maybe Swift should "go for it," and Fey replied, "No, she needs some me time to learn about herself."
In case you missed it, Swift made some cutting ... Read More

After this morning's news on a Republican-backed gay marriage proposition, it's nice to know conservative government can surprise us. (Congratulations on being decent human beings, guys, even if you're probably just trying to avoid the Chik-Fil-A backlash because you're intimidated by the LBGTQ movement! Here's a cookie!) Unfortunately, there are still about a million shady bills floating around Washington, and one of them is trying to repeal the Violence Against ... Read More
